Randy and Sharon Schomacker started Schomackers Office Cleaning in December of 2009 after the last cleaning company in town left. They've always had a passion for making homes and offices better just by being clean. They saw the need for Luverne businesses to have a cleaning service because they saw what business could do if they could focus on running their business instead of cleaning their offices. That passion showed through the quality and commitment that Randy and Sharon put into their work, and the office cleaning side continues growing, providing jobs for people in Luverne and a needed service in the community.

Starting out, some of the businesses we worked with requested carpet cleaning services as well. Randy started cleaning carpets for businesses, friends, family, and for customers of Curves, run by Sharon. They started with a machine they could afford, and while it wasn't the best or the biggest, it provided a thorough clean that made customers take notice. This is about the time that youngest son Tony began to take notice of what Randy and Sharon were doing, saw the results of quality cleaning, and pushed the business to take carpet cleaning to the professional level. Tony helped acquire a professional truck-mounted carpet cleaning machine so that more carpets could be cleaned in a day, and became IICRC certified to learn the internationally-recognized way to clean your carpets. The business grew enough that they bought the old corner gas station on Main St. and Estey in December of 2013.

Schomackers passion for clean carpets became a necessity during June of 2014 when summer storms caused massive flooding in hundreds of area homes. As the clean up came to a close, Randy and Tony were frustrated that they could do everything the homeowner needed for flood relief, except put the flooring back down. They reached out to Luverne's Jerry Hoff to learn the trade of carpet installation, and Jerry introduced Schomackers to flooring retail.

The idea of putting quality products on people's floors and having it installed by a local person appealed to the Schomackers. So in addition to carpet cleaning, Tony also got involved with carpet laying.

Eyeing the prospect of floor coverings growth with the desire to continue to provide products and services not otherwise found in Luverne, Schomackers got into the appliance business in 2016. Schomackers decided to host General Electric, LG, and Speed Queen products because the products were high quality and high value. Each product was selected because the Schomackers could stand by them. In August of 2016, Schomackers opened their flooring and appliance retail store in the old Style Shop building, just months after Sears closed its doors in town.

Two years later, Schomackers found another necessary product to add to Luverne's portfolio — mattresses. Without a mattress dealer, it was guaranteed that people had to leave town to shop. Because they still wanted to focus on quality products that they could stand behind, Schomackers contracted with Sealy Posturepedic and in February of 2019 showcased three lines — Sealy, the luxurious Stearns and Foster, and the value-based Golden Elegance.

In 2020 when it looked like the neighboring store was going to shutter its doors, Schomackers purchased The Sewing Basket to continue selling fabric, notions, and Husqvarna sewing machines. The Sewing Basket also now offers clothing alterations, machine repair, and scissor sharpening.

Randy, Sharon, Joe, and Tony Schomacker continue to get up each day excited to serve Luverne and the surrounding area with quality home products. They strive to keep Main Street alive with hosting their appliance gallery, flooring gallery, and sleep gallery there. There is an amount of pride they take in the trust Luverne gives them to come into their homes, clean their carpets, change out the bathroom floor, install a refrigerator, and deliver a mattress. They select quality products and continue with high quality service for the people they serve.

Schomackers continue to understand that with busy schedules and complicated lives, you need everything you can get working for you. At Schomackers, we help you make the home that works for you.
